Week Two, Post Two (Synthesis & Connection)

In the past week, the focus of the lecture was placed on letter and petition writing and their importance. In order to give social justice writing an outlet to be effective and to have the goals and changes advocated come to fruition, it is crucial that the correct format is used and the right people are contacted. After learning the basics of letter and petition writing, there was a focus placed on learning and understanding the different logical fallacies. This was done for two main reasons - so that when reading other people’s writings that one may disagree with, it is easy to identify flaws in arguments through their language and words choice and so that when writing one’s own arguments, logical fallacies can be avoided when trying to educate and argue with others. 
This connects further with the main idea of justice through understanding how to actually make different materialize in the real world. When advocating for other’s justice and rights, it is crucial to understand how to do that correctly and effectively.
