Week Five, Post Three (Reflection & Questions)

   This past week’s learning has genuinely been my favorite so far. It was very heavy in actually reading the personal writings of both men and women that had experienced prisons, and it was so so interesting. I am, unfortunately, not shocked by the conditions that were being written about, but I am shocked and excited by the boldness and fearlessness that is shown throughout the different writings. They are written without fear or shame, and that is empowering. 

   The one question do I have is were any groups particularly scared or that held back from writing about their experiences? Was this a time period in which richer or more “important people” got better/ specialized treatment or conditions?
