DSJSW Week Three, Post Three (Reflection & Questions)

I really enjoyed this week's new learning, specifically the in-depth studies surrounding intersectional identities, including black women, LGBTQ+ Muslims, and young black boys with mental health issues. All of these are really interesting studies, and by understanding the implications of these intersectional identities, I have gotten a more complex understanding of how these issue can be solved or approached, particularly through a lens of social work.

The only question I have is what are the other most underrepresented intersectional identities, and how has social work tried to approach these issues to solve them in a more effective and comprehensive manner?

  1. What is your guess based on your learning and experiences on what intersectional group is the most underrepresented group? Would you look at that nationally or globally? Maybe even locally?
