DSJSW Week Six, Post Three (Reflection & Questions)

This weeks learning was very interesting, though also very devastating. To learn that it is common for BIPOC to have their basic human needs stripped away from them and consistently denied is appalling, as well as knowing that people are so uneducated and unaware of this fact. It is confusing as to why people do not see this as a larger issue or that it isn't discussed as much in the media as I would have assumed.

My question for this week is if there has been similar cases to the Flint Water Crisis in other areas of the country. Flint is the only example I have ever learned of so I am interested in seeing if there have been more incidents, especially ones that have been ignored or swept under the rug.

  1. What are other similar issues to the Flint crisis that people should know about when we are trying to help them with understand environmental justice issues?
