Independent Research Week Eight, Post Three (Reflection & Questions)
I really enjoyed this week's new learning because I believe that mental health disparities, especially within the Black community go extremely unresponded to and are severely misunderstood and not seen as as crucial as it truly is. Because of this, I like the idea of introducing measures to create social-emotional learning and wellness around young BIPOC children and believe that, while it cannot alone solve the problem of course, is a fantastic step in the right direction. By providing more resources for young children to utilize, we are setting them up for success for the rest of their future.
My one question is response to this week's learning however is how long do the children need to participate in the after school program to reap the benefits, and after outaging the programs, what resources can we provide to help continue the positive learning, coping, and behavior.
What would you like schools to add to address the mental health disparities?
